Què farem?

After taking a bus to the northern border of South Korea, I will lead you on a hike up the stunning Munsu Mountain, tracing the impressive Munsusan Fortress Walls. At the mountain peak (378m) I will show you an impressive 360 view including North Korea, the upper Han river, Gangwando Island, Paju City, and Gimpo City, all while explaining the fascinating history of the fortress and landscape. After eating a traditional Korean hiking snack (gimbap and drinks), I will then take you along a beautiful, less-traveled mountain trail to the Gimpo Sculpture park. At this peaceful forest park, we can explore sculptures by world renowned artists, including personal favorite Jaume Plensa. Finally, we will take the bus back to downtown Seoul.
Other things to note
Message me for alternate dates. Ask about a discount price for two or more guests. The hike is steep and physically demanding. Visibility depends on the weather.

Munsu Mountain is in Gimpo, directly across from North Korea. Beautiful mountain fortress walls trace along the steep mountain ridge, complementing the natural beauty with traditional Korean architecture. The 360 view is stunning, offering a timeline of ancient and modern history from Ganghwado to the DMZ . A peaceful trail connects to the Gimpo Sculpture Park, where a woods walking course highlights sculptures by Korean and global artists.

The hike was steep and difficult but the view was worth it. Inspiring to see elderly people hiking effortlessly. Hiking shoes are a must especially for the downhill trek. Matthew was a good guide with interesting stories. Sad that we didn't get to eat the mandu as the shop was closed!

Journée très bien organisée. La randonnée vous implique à la fois physiquement et culturellement. Je recommande vivement cette sortie avec Matthew.
