Què farem?

I will welcome you to our ice cream shop where I will guide you through the gelato making process. First of all, I will provide you with some important theoretical information: what is gelato, how it differs from ice cream, and the tricks to recognize whether a gelato is handmade or industrially-made. I will also introduce you to our project and the philosophy behind it.
Then the practical part will start: I will take you to our workshop to start making gelato.
Together, we will go through all the fundamental steps to create an authentic Italian gelato. We will prepare the fresh ingredients with traditional methods in order to keep the flavors and properties intact. Then, we’ll mix, mash and simmer the fruit to eventually create the thickened gelato consistency you’re used to seeing.
Each of you will have the opportunity to prepare your own ice cream to eat at our shop or take home.

I started working in the artisanal gelato business in 2016. Last year, in 2018, "È Buono" opened its first shop in Verona and Federico Zullo, the general manager, called me to work with them.
Before the opening I took a course where I deepened my knowledge about the production system, product distribution, quality control, accounting and human resources.
In the past years I’ve learned how to prepare high quality gelato, using a traditional recipe without any industrial products.
Currently I follow our ice cream makers and I am responsible for the communications for our group of gelato shop

On aniràs?

We will meet in front of our ice cream shop on Via Santo Stefano 9, a few steps from Ponte Pietra. After a presentation of the store and our ice cream, we will move to the laboratory where we will have a theoretical presentation and then the practical experience.

Fantastic morning with Boris and Ben! Delicious gelato.. best ever! And what a great experience learning how to make gelato with natural ingredients.. very scientific and very interesting! We had some very interesting and tasty hours together with Boris and Ben. We learned a lot about producing Gelato in theory and also the practical part where we produced four kind of flavours was awesome. We learned why different kind of sugar and other ingredients are used and we understand now why our own Gelato at home with a „normal“ machine doesn’t come even close to this range. We were also impressed about the high quality of the ingredients. I never saw a Straciatella Gelato before that was made by Modena chocolate. But for Boris and Ben it is a must to use the best they can get for their Gelato. It was great to feel the passion of Boris and Ben producing Gelato. At the end we were convinced that this Gelateria is the best in Verona and probably world wide.

Die Entdeckung war wirklich eine besondere und coole Sache. Ich für meinen Teil habe einen Blick hinter die Kulissen des Eis machen bekommen. Es war Spannend und hat Spaß gemacht auch mal selbst die Zutaten Zusammenmischen zu dürfen. Super Erfahrung, kann ich jedem nur Empfehlen der durch Verona kommt! Man darf nicht nur selbst anpacken sondern auch viele verschiedene Eissorten probieren :-)

Überragende Erfahrung! Wir haben zu zweit einen kompletten Einblick in die Eisherstellung bekommen inklusive wie man gutes Eis erkennt, was gute Inhaltsstoffe sind usw. Am besten war das wir einfach bei allen Einsorten, die an dem Tag gemacht wurden, durften wir selbst bei der Herstellung ran und auch natürlich alles probieren. Das Eis war einfach nur überragend. Benjamin der Gelatomeister, hatte sehr viel Wissen und sehr viel Spaß daran uns alles zu erklären! Beste Experience:) Grazie mille!! Unbedingt machen

Really cool experience when you actually get involved in the daily routine of the store by making the Gelatos ourselves. We also had a chance to learn in depth all the steps of producing a Gelato among the particularities of some flavors.
