Què farem?

We'll meet you on our Surf School in Matosinhos Beach, which is one of the spots in Portugal and the most adapted for surfing lessons. It’s also characterized by fine white sand and faces westwards out to the Atlantic Ocean.

Our lessons will have a duration of 2 hours, starting with an introductive briefing, followed by warm-ups before going into the water.
We only work with small groups of students per instructor, to provide the safest classes and the most personal approach.

You have the option to have your class filmed or photographed by a real professional if you want !

Our experience fits every level of Surfers. We can adapt our class to beginners, intermediate or more advanced surfers.

In Onda Pura Surf School surfing is more than a sport, it’s culture, lifestyle and well being ! Go with the flow !

Hello! My name is Marcelo Martins and I've been born and raised in the sea. I've surfing for almost 35 years and I always thought about sharing my love for surf with others. So I became a surf coach certified by the FPS (Portuguese Surf Federation) and in 1994 I opened my Surf School, Onda Pura and we were one of the first Surf Schools to be born in Portugal!
You can find us in Matosinhos, an awesome beach linked to the beautiful city of Porto, in Portugal.

On aniràs?

Matosinhos beach is the best spot for surfers in the north of Portugal, with an easy access from the center of Porto. The beach offers a wide expanse of whiten sands and waves that are suitable for surfing, while only being a 15 minute metro journey away from the centre of Porto.

Antonio, who has surfed for as long as he can remember, was teaching me. He was very patient and knowledgeable. The equipment provided (including the wetsuit which was especially important given the cold water temperature of 14°C) was solid and the showers were also functioning well. Overall, a very pleasurable experience and thanks to Antonio's help, I was able to surf twice which for a complete beginner I consider an exciting achievement.
