Què farem?

It’s time for an epic local food adventure. Your authentic Siem Reap evening starts off with a ride on a moto-remork, an articulated moto-rickshaw that’s commonly seen on Siem Reap’s streets. We’ll zip you through the streets, off the tourist trail and straight into local street heaven.

Your food-loving local guide will uncover hidden local street food treasures and beloved recommendations of local snacks, such as yellow bean cake or Khmer rice cake. Our food mission continues with a tasting of seasonal fruits that are grown in and around Siem Reap, like the purple kiwi fruit-like dragon fruit, mango, tiny (but sweet!) pineapple. You’ll also see the spices and other ingredients featured in local food, and hear about the traditional remedies and medicine.

Next, we’ll hit up a local picnic spot where stalls are set up in the early evening selling a multitude of interesting snacks. As we wander around, you might see fried tarantulas, which are usually enjoyed with a cold beer; fried crickets, which taste like potato chips; barbecued meat on skewers; Khmer Fried Chicken; green mango served with chili and salt; ducks eggs; barbecued corn; and deliciously sweet purple mangosteen.

Hopefully, you still have room for even more amazing Cambodian food, because our next stop is a local restaurant to sample some tasty local delicacies.
Other things to note
Your guide is wearing a Red Urban Adventures T-shirt, we are all locals and we'll make sure you'll leave the tour with your belly full - so don't eat much before!

This experience was beyond my wildest expectations. Our guide Kim was friendly and very knowledgeable. The food was far out and also delicious. I highly recommend this tour to anyone.

My host was Thou. I appreciate that he decided to meet me where I was when traffic jam kept me from reaching the designated meeting point on time. Most food we tried were sold literally by street where we saw no other visitors. It was quite an eye opening to see how locals enjoy their time off and to join them on a sheet or bench on the road side. We tasted roasted chicken, beef sausage, roasted frogs, crickets, eel, squid, snake, some special meet with one can beer, some sips of palm wine, rice wine and rice noodle. the street foods are fine. I would recommend to set your expectation low. I am glad we ended the trip in a nice and clean local restaurant with proper food and drink.

We booked a tour for two and it ended up just being us and Mr. Kim which was a wonderful time. If you love food and like being adventurous this is a must do experience because is about as local and authentic as it gets. There is a very wide variety of foods offered and you will be stuffed by the end of the trip so come hungry! We even had brought up some local foods we had heard about and he made a point to stop at those stalls so we could sample them. Mr. Kim made it very clear that if we weren’t comfortable eating anything we could skip it and we were under no pressure to finish something we had tried. We consumed some pretty wild things (understatement) and woke up and went through the next day feeling zero ill effects. One of us has a dairy allergy and he made sure to double check in instances where dairy was a possible ingredient. This was the highlight of our two week trip through South East Asia and cannot recommend it enough! Mr. Kim is an All-Star and we are so happy we had him as our host!

I had so much fun on this tour with Kim! You know it's a good tour when you look around, and there are zero other tourists. This is one of the more adventurous food tours I've been on — a mix of fruits, meats and desserts I doubt I'd find anywhere else. But even if you aren't keen on crunchy bugs and fermented duck eggs, there are enough options on this tour to leave you coming away absolutely stuffed! :) It's also incredibly personalized — when I saw something interesting and asked what it was, Kim offered to have me try it. Not only was he a wonderfully friendly and engaging fellow, but he also has a fascinating personal story to add!

I had Mr. Thou for my food tour. It ended up being just him and I which made the experience even more personalized. We meet up near the Old Market Bridge and they have a Tuk Tuk already arranged for the whole evening. We went to a local market which made the experience even more authentic. I don't think I saw another tourist at the market. Mr. Thou had a vast knowledge of food and asked me if had a particular interest in trying certain things but tailored the tour based off what I wanted to eat. The tour was great. After we went to a local beer garden and had a few beers and a great conversation. Would recommend to anyone unfamiliar with Khmer cuisine (like myself)
