Irini's house

Irini΄s house is a Cretan traditional stone house, built back in the 19 century. The house is nestled in a quiet village hidden in the mountains, called Alones. The original character and the Cretan traditional architecture have been preserved and taken under serious consideration during renovation. The house is located in a small traditional village which consists of two neighborhoods built on two elongated hills and separated by a ravine. At the bottom of the ravine is a very old stone fountain with trees. The houses are masterfully built of stone on the successive levels of the two hills thus providing a beautiful traditional settlement. The view to the opposite villages are impressive. The flora is especially rich in herbs and medicinal herbs such as oregano, thyme and labdanum.
