Maremaan Pool Villa

Palm fronds wave over the pool at this Scandi-style villa close to Koh Samui’s Chaweng Beach. Outside, the home is surrounded by verdant tropical gardens; inside, it’s appointed with blond wood and clean lines inspired by Nordic design. Drive 5 minutes to a white-sand beach lined with bars and restaurants ranging from the blissed-out to the dance-all-night. The villa is nestled onto 2,000 square meters of private grounds, with lush plantings (and umbrellas) shading its sunny terrace. Claim a spot on one of the loungers, splash around in the 15-meter pool and hot tub, and have drinks and dinner at the shaded alfresco sitting and dining areas on a veranda just off the house. Metal-framed windows lend modern style to the villa’s living and dining areas, separating them from the pool terrace and the fully equipped kitchen. Look for a mid-century influence in the armchairs opposite the sofas and around the dining table, and in the pale-wood cabinetry in the Scandi-chic kitchen. It’s a 9-minute drive from the villa to Chaweng Beach, a lively, sandy stretch known for its beachfront eateries and nightlife. Or head for Fisherman’s Village, where you can pick up souvenirs from tiny shops and snack on street food from local stalls.
