If sandcastles and sun bathing are more your style, Rockport Beach is just a 15 minute drive, or hop on the Ferry 10 minutes away and head to Port Aransas Island for the day. Texans love their HEB and you'll find one just 2 minutes from the house.

Whooping cranes ( Oct.-April) and 400 species of birds migrate and live in the area . Deer roam freely . Fishing and boat ramps along the water. State park is a peaceful walk. Rockport a short 9 miles ,lovely drive. No hammock at this time.
