The master bedroom was a 1-room schoolhouse from the 1890's to 1914, where "Miss Sallie" Young taught (after she retired from 54 years in Texas public schools). After many additions and updates, it's now a quiet part of a Church Camp property (which you're welcome to explore). Perini Ranch Restaurant is nearby, as well as several other great places to eat - not to mention Abilene is 8 miles away.

Barndo on the Ridge

Barndo on the Ridge is located in north Abilene not far from downtown and close to S. 1st. The Barndo sits at the top of a hill surrounded by pure west Texas country. Get away and enjoy the peace of the country, sip coffee on the porches and enjoy a beautiful sunrise and sunset. Many wildlife can be seen near the feeders, around the property and flying in the sky. You can also get a front row seat to view the military planes as they fly over during the day practicing their flight trainings.

Very simple, but beautiful and comfortable place to stay. You will be staying in one apartment of a duplex. Only 7 minutes away from downtown Abilene (by car), where you can find amazing cafes (Front Porch Cafe, Monk's cafe), and restaurants (Vagabond Pizza, The Local). House is located to close to Sayles Boulevard and Butternut street, which makes it a breeze to get around. There is also an air mattress that you can use for the 5th and 6th person. Thank you!!

When you arrive, you may see horses grazing out in the pasture, two loving Collies & the farm cat "Major." The Dug Out Hideaway is on 10 acres in the country, on the side of a mesa. We have hiking trails through a cedar forest. Wildlife such as deer, fox, racoons, and coyotes could be seen at the feeder near the house. Clear beautiful night sky. Spectacular view overlooking Abilene and countryside.
